Beauty Box Salon Photo Shoot | Brad’s Beauty Blog

I attended a seminar several years back where I had the privilege of attending a motivational talk from Vidal Sassoon. He had a keen sense of style as well as a love of architecture and decided to bring some architecture into hairdressing. His team used to work long hours at the salon and then after closing they would invite some models in to experiment with different shapes and styles and that is how he developed his first signature looks and became the most acclaimed hair dresser in the world.

What the Sassoon team did that was so inspiring to me is that they came together as a team and created great things together. They had dozens of brainstorming sessions to come up with a team ideal as well as exciting new looks.

We at the Beauty Box are taking that same team drive and spirit and creating great looks that inspire us and represent how talented and creativity because for us,  just doing gorgeous hair extensions isn’t enough.

As a team we decided to do a photo shoot with a wedding theme. Starting with the first date, moving in to the night of the proposal on to the wedding day itself. Brandon Stephens and myself were in charge of putting together a look for the night of the proposal. We tore lots of different looks out of magazines and from the internet to inspire is to put together a look that was chic and editorial. We weren’t necessarily going for a wearable look but as it turns out the look we ended up with was very editorial as well as wearable for some who dare to rock this style out.

We decided to incorporate traditional french braids and tight curls to make a mile high pile of curly locks. I didn’t find many challenges with this particular look in the ways of styling and getting it where we wanted it. I love it. Not bad for a little Dallas salon, eh?
